Movie Maker Error

Here's hoping someone can help a video capture virgin!

I'm trying to transfer some footage from my newly
acquired DV camera on to my laptop. Obviously using MM

When I select 'Capture From Video Device', the capture
wizard starts ok, and shows my camera, which I highlight,
(although the 'video input source' dropdown is greyed
out) I press the next key, name my captured file, and
give it a location. Everythings still ok.
Next screen asks about quality settings, so i leave this
on Best Quality and press next then I get an error
saying 'An interface has too many methods to fire events
from'
Now I'm stuck, I have no idea what this means and can't
find an mention of it on MS website.
I'm connecting a JVC GR-DX25EK to my Laptop using the
supplied USB cable.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Neil

The March Hare \(MVP\)

Time to get a firewire cable and card (total $40). The video will be much
better quality. It sounds like the USB WDM driver is flaky on your system.
In any case, you really don't want to use USB to capture.

March Hare is right the USB is only for transferring the stills and e-mail
quality video. You need firewire.
