Movie Maker Closes Every Time

movie maker completely closes as soon as I try to add ANY video effects....the very second I hit "OK" after adding brightness, slow down, or any other video effect I loose my work and it closes.....what can I do? I've tried everything...I installed the latest version and it still does the same thing.

It's generally a codec issue, try

Hello there,

There is a program specifically designed to solve your problem which
despite the moronic behavior of certain people is being downloaded more and
more each day. Its called rename codecs, its free, its easy and its on my
website ...also spend about 1 minute reading the tutorial and you can
forget the pages and pages of info presented on the other site.
