Movie Maker 2 in Vista

T

Teo

Hey guys!
I am looking for a way to run Movie Maker in Windows Vista. The version that
comes with the new OS requires a good video card and usually I run Movie
Maker on my laptop. So you can imagine, it sends me an error that it can't
run. I need to figure out a way to use it. My laptop is good, only that it
has an integrated video card.

Any suggestions on what I can do?

Thanks,

Teo

Maybe an updated video driver would help.

For some reason it doesn't want to run :(
I wish I could get Movie Maker 2 running on Vista but it sends me an error
that it needs to be installed on Windows XP.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Teo

Hi John,

My video card is an Intel integrated video card and the only place I can get
drivers is at the HP website (since my computer is an HP dv1125la model). I
only see drivers for Windows XP. Do you think I should try those?
I understand that movie maker 2 is for win xp. I thought there was some kind
of workaround for the people that can't get to run the newer version. It
really sucks that microsoft imposed the requirement for a separate video
card with acceleration. We're not doing 3d animation there LOL.

Regards,
Teo

Actually we are! Movie Maker in Vista uses the GPU power of your video card
for video effects/transitions/encoding to provide lightening fast editing.
