Movie Maker 2 - corrupt DV export?

A

Alfred Sehmueller

Hello NG,

i am in big trouble with Windows Movie Maker 2. When I export my work
to disk (DV-AVI/PAL), everything seems to be fine - I can watch the
movie in Windows Media Player. But no other software is able to open
it (i want to make a SVCD or DVD). They all tell me the file is no
DV-AVI-Format.

When I open the properties of the avi-file there are no infos about
frame-size etc. The original file (before cutting) has the typically
DV-AVI infos here.

Is Windows Movie Maker 2 unable to save correct DV-AVI? Did you have
similiar experiences. Even Adobe Premiere is unable to open the file.

Thanks

Alfred

Alfred,

Hopefully it's just a DV-AVI type I versus type II issue. MM2 makes the
newer type I files, but many other software apps can only handle the older
type II.

See the DV-AVI section of the Saving Movies > Intro page of www.papajohn.org
