Moved email now can't find it

Using outlook 2000 and Exchange Server 2003

A user has managed to move an email, he right clicked and selected Move to
Folder, but instead of selecting Inbox as destination he selected the top
level folder: Mailbox - UserName

The mail has moved from original location but now he can't find it anywhere,
and I have no idea where to look. I can replicate the problem on my system,
moving any mail, selecting the top level folder: Mailbox - Jeff and the mail
disappears from original location but then can't be found anywhere.

Does anyone know where the mail might be, or which folder it will go into
under such circumstances, as usual its the one important email he received he
tried to move and has now lost it

Thanks for any pointers

Right-click on Personal Folders in the Folder view and choose Properties. On
the Home Page Tab uncheck the box. That should show the mails. Move them
back to a folder! Then do the reverse to put the homepage back again.
