Move messages more than once?

I have not had this problem before, but suddenly I find that, if I have
previously moved a message from my Inbox to a different personal folder, I
can't move it again to another folder? I get the msg, "Can't move the items.
The item could not be moved. It was either already moved or deleted, or
access was denied." I could have sworn I've moved items more than once, but
now I can't. Any explanations? Any suggested work-arounds? Thanks!
