Move Macro Button on Sheet to a toolbar

I have a macro button created with Forms to run a macro. The button is on the
sheet. I want to get it up to a toolbar but I can't.
Then, I tried creating a custom button to place on the toolbar but when I
click-drag the button from the command list I get a Black X.
Any help appreciated.

The button from the Forms toolbar cannot be dragged to a toolbar.

You have tried Tools>Customize>Commands>Macros and dragged the smiley face to a
toolbar?

Is this the point where you get a black X?

Not normal behaviour for this method of placing a button on a toolbar. I have
no guesses.

Maybe you could add the button using code when you open the workbook or activate
a particular worksheet.

See Debra Dalgleish's site for Dave Peterson code.

Good to hear.

Don't put too many buttons up there or customize the menus overly much.

These customizations are saved in your Excelxx.XLB file and the larger it gets
the more likely it can become corrupted and cause problems.

Creating and restoring menus and toolbars through code is the best way to go in
the opinion of many especially if you need to send to/share with other users.
