I have a new toshiba laptop running vista basic, the pointer/mouse will
minimize windows when I use it to activate the scroll bar on the side ofthe
page, often it will go back and forth between full and minmized page. Does
anyone have a suggestion of howto fix this?
thanks

Go into the Control Panel and open the Mouse/Touchpad applet. Adjust
sensitivity from there.

What I have found also happens is that I go to a spot on the screen and click
the mouse and the viewing screen size changes to a smaller version not
covering the entire monitor, the page isn't minimized...just made smaller, I
then must click the maximize button to fill the screen. This happens at
various locations on the screen with no set pattern. Any ideas on why this
happens or how to correct?
thanks

Spend some time messing about in the mouse/touchpad control panel
applet(s). You've probably got some "hot spots" selected. Or try a
different mouse since you still haven't really specified whether you are
using an external mouse or just the touchpad and calling it a mouse. If
you're just using the touchpad, try using a usb mouse instead.

This is one of those times when someone who can see what you're doing
and take a look at your computer with you is going to be able to give
you better help than someone reading brief posts about it. If you can't
figure this out, ask a knowledgeable friend to come over and help you.

LAB Enterprises

By default, the touchpad has hot zones enabled - which means each corner of
your touchpad will do something when you double tap it. The zones are quite
large by default too.

You can set what they do and the size of the zones (I changed mine to be
just the very corners) thru control panel>mouse>device
settings>settings>tapping>tap zones.

I was about to shop for some lab equipment, thought your Enterprises was the
right place, but alas, had to turn back without spending a dime.

Someone else will do it though.

Thanks, the tap zone seems to have fixed the problem, if not I'll check back
