Mouse selects without clicking

I just upgraded my HP laptop from XP Home to Pro. Now
the touchpad mouse works differently. If the pointer is
setting on a selection on the screen for a couple of
seconds without movement, that selection will be selected
without clicking a button. Very distracting. How do I
turn off, so requires left button click like before?

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/General: Click items as follows.

Right click the Start button/Properties/Customize/Advanced/Open submenu's
when I pause on them with my mouse.
