Mouse pointer text

I am using Windows XP Home Edition. When I hover the mouse pointer over
anything like an icon, file, folder etc, a banner opens with a text
explanation of what the item is. It's most annoying. Does anyone know
how I can disable it please.

Well, if you're absolutely certain that you WANT to do that, and I mean you
REALLY want to do that...

Not a tweak I'd recommend...

To avoid editting the Registry, go here:
Open Windows Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View tab
Scroll down to last item and click "Show pop-up description........."
Click Apply and OK.

Hi
To stop this poup description following following steps

Windows Explorer -> Tools -> Folder Options ->View Tab and under Advanced
settings

Uncheck the option for " Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items"

Hope this helps..
