Mouse moves by itself

Fritz

I just recently reinstalled Microsoft Windows 2000 and not
one month later, it has started acting up. The mouse on
my laptop has started moving by itself. I cannot even
move it to sit on top of anything, it starts to move to
the upper right corner. usually this only happens when
I'm in internet explorer. I have a Dell Inspirion Laptop
with a touch pad. Thanks for your help.

Try attaching a regular ps/2 or USB mouse to it, and see if the same problem
occurs (you can borrow any mouse from any pc at home / work, should work).
If this solves your problem, you most likely have a hardware problem and
need to contact your vendor.
If your problem persists, then , since it only happens in internet explorer,
I think you may have a virus. Try updating your antivirus program (or get
one if not present).
One last option : if the laptop came with a driver-disk, search it for
mouse/touchpad drivers. Installing them may also solve your problem.

Glenn.
