Mount partition to NTFS folder

M

mactable

First of all, sorry for my poor english.

My machine is running winxp + sp1, my hard drive has 2 partitions, drive C
and drive D, both of them in NTFS format. I handle all the files and folders
with administrator account so no file or folder failed.

Recently, I change the mount point of my second partition -- mount the
second partition to C:\Partition\D instead of d:

I could create any file or folders on the partiiton via c:\Partition\D
without any problem, but my problem is...

1) when i try to delete file under c:\Partition\D via file explorer, my
harddisk seems running crazy for a period time, then file can be erased. if
I delete file via command prompt (e.g. del c:\Partition\D\myFile.exe ), it's
ok.

2) when i try to delete folder under c:\Partition\D via file explorer, error
will be happened and says "Cannot delete myFolder: Accessis denied. The
source file may be in use...", even course I am sure this folder is not
being used, if I remove this folder via command prompt (e.g. rmdir
c:\Partition\D\myFolder ), it's ok.

So, I return to mount this partition to drive D instead of C:\Partition\D ,
it's back to normal and everything is ok.

I did not make any change to ACL when I mounted this partition on
C:\Partition\D , so I do not understand what is causing this problem.

Some hints plz, Thx a lot in advance!!!

I just found this on MS site

any latest solution about this problem?

There is no further solution as far as I am aware. You discovered on
through trial one workaround and the article has another. The recycle
bin code would need to be modified to know that the folder is a mount
point and to use the recycler on the real physical drive for the mount
point.

Use Shift+Del when you delete files. (Or Right Click/Shift+Delete). This
will delete files without putting them to Recycle Bin.
