More than 20 Print Queues

G

Gene

I am trying to add more than 20 print queues to each
profile that logs on to the Windows 2000 terminal server
with a batch file. It only adds the first twenty then
stops.

Is there a Reg Key Change or patch to fix this issue.

Thanks,

Gene,

I can't help you with your specific problem of adding queues in the batch
file, but if you are doing this to give all users logining into a
Cirtix/Terminal Server box access to a large number of network printers
without having to set each user up individualy, there is a simpler solution.
Set the network printers up as local printers on the Citrix/TS Box by
creating a new standard port pointing to the printer's the share name. All
local printers on the box will be available to anyone who logs in.

If you were trying to map these queues for another reason, ... never mind.

If you have Citrix Metaframe on the Terminal Server, I suggest using the
Citrix Managment Console to "publish" the printers to users. This is much
simpler to manage than trying to use batch files. You can publish Network
Printers by "importing" the print server. You do not need to add the
printers as Local Printers on the Terminal Services/Citrix servers as has
been suggested elsewhere.

We are using this approach for about 600 users in 25 different locations
with anywhere from 10 to 40 printers per location. All the printers are
Network Printers on several different print servers and we find it easy to
administer. We publish the printers at each site to an Active Directory
group that contains the users at that site. Works well.

If this is no help, try posting in the
microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services newsgroup.
