More questions - broken hyperlinks

I have several files listed as broken on the hyperlinks report:

file:///products/images/1dot.gif on basic.css page

file:///products/images/grad_ht_top_orange.gif on modern.css page
There are a whole bunch of this one - some saying blue, some saying side.
What are these? Since they're broken, they're obviously not being used?
Any reason why I can't just delete all of them?

Also, on the problem report is a bunch of "unlinked files." No, they're not
linked to the main page, they're not supposed to be. Why are these listed
as unlinked files? Does FP think all links should be to the main page?

FP only look at links in css files relative to the css file (not the css file in a html page)

In FrontPage, unlinked files are those that cannot be reached using
normal links starting from the Home page.
Normal links are those of the form <a href="page">blah</a>
or <img src="file.gif">
etc. They exclude links formed through scripting.

the location file:///products/images/1dot.gif is actually pointing to
C:\products\images\1dot.gif
Does this location exist?
