This has suddenly started showing up in application error logs. I've stopped
and started the service, checked system resources, but it's still logging an
error. How do I fix it (if it's at all possible)?

"The gatherer files from the previous checkpoint cannot be restored, and

resources or verify that your hardware is working properly.

I just tried to print something and got that error. Seems this started
yesterday (according to my son). Yesterday Vista downloaded some updates in
relation to program compatibility issues. Printer worked yesterday.

HELP - I'm getting to the point of throwing this thing out of the window, or
possible the nearest river!!

Another left over problem from older versions of Windows rears its
ugly head. Try this...

If your printer is still running shut it down from the printer
directly. Wait a couple minutes. Now look on your Task Bar lower far
right bottom of your desktop for a Icon for your printer. Open and
you'll probably see some print job "stuck". Try to delete it.
Sometimes Windows will, others times not let you delete the print job.
If not, shut down, reboot, after Windows comes back up and settles
down (usually a minute or so), turn your printer back on and try
again. Before trying to reprint wait a bit, often your printer,
depending on make and model will start up printing what it could not
all by itself before. If not, after a reasonable time try again.

Hi Adam

Thanks for reply. I'd already checked that there wasn't anything 'stuck' in
the print foler. There wasn't. The printer is using the Vista drivers, as I
didn't load anything when I did a clean install on a new drive.

I got fed up and deleted the printer, disconnected it rebooted and started
from scratch. This time it work, unfortunately, then my pen tablet driver
disappeared, so I had to reinstall that, but that didn't work. I found
updated drivers on Wacom and installed them, now that works. But, all the
same it's really strange that after 6 weeks of running Vista, indexing
doesn't work, printer stops working along with pen tablet all at the same
time!!

Regards
Seven
