MONITOR SCREEN SIZE KEEPS CHANGING

My screen size occasionally flickers in size making a tick noise as it gets
smaller by about 5mm each side then clikcs back. It will do this several
times than calm down for a while before doing again.
I have had the monitor 2 years and my system has run quite smoothly untill
recently, any advice whay may be causing it?
I am using screen resolution 768 x 1280 32bit at 75hz (60 being only other
option) usuing Microsofts Plug & PLay driver dated 06/06/2001 version
5.1..2001 as one did not come with my LGX192 19" monitor. I have an ATI
radeon 9600 pro.
I have tried update monitor driver but it sayes I am using the best, I have
the latest ATI drivers installed.

It sounds like you have a failing capacitor in your monitor.

Thanks, sounds like a repair job, any other options?
