Monitor recogniztion.

John Johnson

With a AIW 9600 card, a few weeks old.
Along with a MSI 865PE Neo 2 MB.
XP Pro SP2

I have installed then uninstalled then reinstall the newest drives for
the card.

But both times it list the monitor as the default monitor rather than
the NEC PLug and Play AccuSync 90 19 monitor that it is.
Under a previous install of XP it did list the correct monitor and I
sure remember being able to get a list of monitors to choose form.

Neither the Devise manager nor the ATI settings allow me to change the
monitor.

I uninstalled the default monitor but it just keeps giving me that.

Not sure if this is a Windows problem or ATI problem.

I think windows, try re-installing NEC monitor drivers.

I've seen this problem too.

I've seen this problem too.
I had this happen just now when I installed the 4.10 cat's on my PC with
an NEC 2080UX+. Had to reinstall the monitor drivers (snagged the v1.8
level of NaviSet and installed that and it reinstalled both NaviSet and
the latest monitor drivers). Did not happen on my other two PC's (one
with a Samsung display the other with a Dell).

I too had to reinstall drivers for my Mitsubishi 930SB after upgrading my
GF4 Ti4200 to an Asus AX800XT. Monitor just wasn't recognized after
installing the new card. Strangely though, the monitor remembered all
settings...

I have a similar problem. After installing either 4.9 or 4.10 Cat
drivers and the Cat Control Centre, my secondary monitor is no longer
even installed, let alone recognized. It is not listed under device
manager and nothing I do seems to be able to find it or fix it. It's an
older model Acer so it functions under a generic driver.

I filed a bug under 4.9 with ATI but have heard nothing.

AIW 9600Pro, XP Home. I recently changed the CPU and mobo but the
problem remains. Clearly a Catalyst issue. Mandrake 10.1 still sees
both monitors.

I have exactly the same problem (AIW 9600 PRO, Xp home) after installing
Catalyst 4.10. Second monitor is NOT recognized at all. I tried both
versions (with and without CCC). Filed the bug under 4.10, and stepped
back to the driver from catalyst 3.8....
