I use Photoshop CS2 under Windows XP, and Eye-One Photo for color profiling
of my display. I am having difficulties getting the expected results.
What I do: I use Eye-One Match v3.2a to create a display profile. This
profile is installed properly, and the gamma LUT is properly loaded into my
video card upon startup. The loading is performed either by Adobe Gamma
Loader or Logo Gamma Loader (part of the Gretag Eye-One software).
What I expect: I expect colors to look good - corrected - system wide,
including inside and outside Photoshop.
What I get: Everything looks great - properly corrected - except the image
in Photoshop. If I may guess then it seems that PS misses the fact that the
LUT from my monitor profile has been loaded and that no more correction is
necessary, so Adobe converts the colors of my image (which is in sRGB) to my
monitor color space. This then is additionally corrected by the gamma LUT in
my video card, resulting in incorrect colors.
