Modified Date of Objects

I am using Access 2002.

The modified dates on all my objects (tables, queries,
forms, reports, macros, and modules) are changing just by
opening them. Whenever a form or report is opened from a
menu or a query or a module is used the modified date for
that object is updated.

This makes it rather difficult to track the objects that I
have actually changed when I am trying to keep track of
the things I have changed so I can make sure my customer
base is up to date.

Any idea why these dates are changing when I am not making
a programming change? Is there an options setting or
something that might be causing this? I just got a new
computer and I don't recall this happening on my old
computer but may have never noticed it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Because that's the way Microsoft implemented it, making the date field
in the form's properties essentially useless.

Nope. Just bad design on MS's part.

I have a table Modifications with a very basic form to update it, and
(usually... sometimes I forget :-{( ) just record significant changes
manually.
