Hi ... I understand this is a open group forum which is for all user
but , Doesn't someone from microsoft control whats gets posted in this
groups forum ? If so , Do you think as a suggestion people that post
with future day/time can be blocker from posting and the only way they
could be allow back if they promise never to do it again , Also why do
the user response to these people that post these type of post , If no
one would ever response to them , Then maybe they wouldn't do such ...

PS : I believe there is a very small percentage like 5 % that don't
realize their date/time zone is wrong but , For those 95% knows what
they are doing and they do it just to tick people off

This isn't a forum. This is a News Group provided by Microsoft that can ber accessed via
Google, the MS Web CDO or by a News Clients such as MS Outlook Express or Mozilla
Thunderbird.

There is NO moderator. There is a News Server admin. He will delete posts that violate the
norms of posting such as spam, racial bigotry or those banned from posting. I doubt that he
will delete a post mistakenly posted in the future. That 5% is a huge overestimate. It is
more like .1% or less.

You are posting via Rogers cable Internet. You will find accessing News Groups more
rewarding if you stop using Google and start using the Rogers News Server and a News Client.

{ The above has NOT been verified. If it does work, it will require authentication. }

I use google because at times I am not using my computer and I do use
my outlook with sympatico , Not rogers

Gotcha -- I saw that you are on Rogers now ;-)

If you were using outlook express you could simply "Hide read messages" so
once you've read it it doesn't matter if it was dated 2010 it's invisible.

Also, if you were using OE and listed the newsgroups on these servers you'd
recognise that trying to moderate them would be an astronomical if not
impossible task.

There is a very small percentage (much less than 5%) who either
operate in the wrong time zone or who have a wrong date/time
setting on their PC. Those whose time is in the past are no problem -
their posts simply move to the bottom of the stack in a busy group
like this one, and are rarely answered. Those whose time is in the
future (sometimes by a year or more) are invariably notified because
their post persists on top of a date-ordered stack.

About people who abuse newsgroups as their free advertising
platform (we've had a few of them this weekend!): I simply create
a filter in Outlook Express that dispatches such posts automatically
to the Deleted Items box.

Hi ... I understand this is a open group forum which is for all user

Microsoft ONLY monitors ITS Usenet server. Since usenet is replicated
around the world, each ISP's Usenet server is under its own control and
MS has nothing to do with it. Were MS to issue a cancel on a message
might still see it if you were not directly accessing the MS Usenet
server - as many ISP's don't honor cancel requests from outsiders.
If so , Do you think as a suggestion people that post
with future day/time can be blocker from posting and the only way they
could be allow back if they promise never to do it again , Also why do
the user response to these people that post these type of post , If no

Stop using the usenet client interface you are currently using - start
using a REAL usenet clients and then sort by Subject instead of date.
Then set it to only show Unread Posts so that you don't have to wade
through all the articles you've already read.

If you start accessing the groups via your own ISP's Usenet server you
will find that it's a LOT easier, you can use real Usenet client
software, and you won't have to worry about future posters.
PS : I believe there is a very small percentage like 5 % that don't

I bet the percentage of Usenet posters that know what they are doing is
under %50, not the %95 you suggest :)

"Jimbo" <No one said:
Why was he banned?

Foul and abusive language violating MS rules for posting, posting under
multiple nicknames to try and avoid detection as pcbutts1, violating
security norms, asking people to post HiJack logs in the forum.

So is there a cop sitting at his pc 24/7 to make sure he doesn't post to
this group?
I know he posted highjack this logs and everyone pissed and moaned about it.
I doubt all the other crap though.

If acting like an ass gets you "banned" or whatever then why does kurt still
post here? Or any number of the "MVP's? Or me for that matter.

Why waste the time of a human if you can get a server
to block him? Sounds trivial to me.
