moderate problem here with possible bug

since yester day my task manager keeps automatically getting disabled on startup, then my shutdown button, run command dissapear from the task bar, i know how to reset the values but on reboot they keep going back to disabled. i have a couple of odd registry entries that i am unsure of, i deleted them and on reboot they came back, my guess is that its a rootkit, because i ran a virus and spy ware scan and they showed nothing. what is the problem?



im running windows xp srvc pack 2
512 meg ram
p4 1.8 ghz
