Mobo and RAM for AMD 3800 or 4400?

Ok, a bit off whack here but I am looking at building a new rig since mine
recently decided to stop firing up (narrowed to cpu or mobo problem, don't
think it's worth fixing the 4 year old box).

I'm still undecided on whether it'll be 3800 or 4400 (4800 seems a little
pricey without significant advantages). I am researching at various places
on mobos and other components, going through the reviews & benchmarks. I'm
also very interested to know what "real" people are using and their
experiences especially if you've had a really bad experience with a certain
combination.

Thanks.

joe.

I'm running a 4400+ on an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum, works fine with Fedora
Core 3 and an 2.6.13.2 kernel. All of the Nforce4 motherboards are pretty
similar and are priced about the same, you won't go wrong with an MSI,
ASUS or Tyan. I got my system from MonarchComputer, they did a fine job
putting it together. If you plan on building it yourself then buy the
parts from Newegg, when I've ordered stuff from them I've generally
received it in 24 hours even though I've always chosen the cheapest
shipping option.
