MMORPGs

Spleen

Hello!

I'm looking for free MMORPGs that'll run well on a low-end PC. I'm
especially interested in games with 2D, anime-inspired graphics.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

First suggestion: Tell us what an MMORPG is.

Questionable legality:
BUT..... if you have Ultima Online there are free servers you can connect
to. I half enjoyed the game but didnt enjoy the servers (flakey, crowded,
full of PvPers and griefers, no help, no real "wilderness" to build a house
on). Anyway now there are over 300 free servers run by players so anything
people liked or didnt like seems to have a complete server that agrees with
you (pvp, non-pvp, crowd, quiet, run by teens, run by adults, standard UO,
creatively modified, etc etc etc)

2D, anime-inspired graphics? You can try 'Nexus: Kingdom of the Winds'.
There is a 10-day free trial.

http://www.nexustk.com/

I think it started back in 1996 and AFAIK was the first to incorporate
horses as transport, crafting etc before any of the mainstream MMORPG (eg
UO) did.

And I have not been playing it for years so I really cannot comment on how
it is like now.

Oops, I did not notice the word "free" earlier. The game that I recommended
is not free. You can still give it a try as there is a 10-day free trial.

There is one that's in closed beta, its called Trickster Online
(http://www.tricksteronline.com/). It'll probably be freeware once its
in the "gold" stage.

Maplestory should fit the bill (and I can recommend it):

Free MMORPG - Check
Low-end PC - Celeron 500mhz
2D Anime - Check

I think Trickster (as previously posted) would be worth a look for you too.
Also this wiki is very usefull:

Or this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mmorpgs

Adventure Quest

I don't know if I'd really call it MM, but it is ORPG.
