Misssing File system 32\ ntoskrnl.exe

Tried to do a system restore in Windows XP. Restore
failed. Tried again under safe mode and got the error
that the system 32 ntoskrnl.exe file was missing or
corrupt. Windows XP came with computer and do not have
CD. What's the best way to correct this problem?

Anthony, it's rare that replacing the ntoskrnl.exe file will solve your
problem. You need a WinXP CD to do a Repair or
Clean Reinstall. Otherwise you have to use the recovery disks that came
with your computer.
