missinging tray

It's not clear to me whether "tray" means the entire bar next to the Vista
"start" button, but that's how I'm using it.

Whenever I resume using my laptop after using the 'save session' option or
when the system sleeps (is that the correct term) after prolonged inactivity,
the screen comes back on and the 'start' button appears, but the entire tray
is invisible. All windows seem to know it's there because when they are in
'full screen' mode, they do not cover the tray area.

How to I get Vista to stop "losing" the tray in such circumstances?

Forgot to add ...

I do NOT have autohide on and I do have the taskbar 'locked'. In order to
get the tray or taskbar back, I have to log off or restart.

Hi,

Video drivers are not recovering fully, update yours from the manufacturer
of your video card or system manufacturer (meaning not Windows Update).
