Missing wording on "Spyware Definitions Updated" box

Rob

I just noticed that when the subject box comes up on my screen it is missing some text
(actually it looks like I'm getting just the tops of the characters).

The line immediately prior to it says;

"New Microsoft AntiSpyware definitions available for"
then the 'height truncated value'
followed by the line;
"Would you like to update"

Any idea as to what the missing info is?

I've seen posts about messages "flying by" when the taskbar isn't on the top/bottom and
wonder if this is somehow related as my taskbar is hidden on the top - the box appears on
the bottom right of the screen.

I don't think this is related to the taskbar--as long as the taskbar is
horizontal, the alerts seem to be OK. It might be related to the font size
setting for the desktop however.

I'd go with Andre's thoughts. You could mess with your desktop font size
settings, or you could wait for another beta build and see if it gets fixed.

I'm not that concerned, more of a "hmmm" thing.

Just wondering what the fractured message would tell me if I could see it.

Well--they don't name individual threats--so the "new definitions available"
is binary--they either are or are not.

I'm not sure what that next line should say myself, but there are no
subtleties here--if it says there are new definitions, go get them.

Current are 5711, at this point--as seen in Help, about.

It appears as though I've failed to make myself clear.

I realize that there are no "subtleties here"-I can fully comprehend the message to get
the definitions.
I was only saying that the box that appears is not displaying all the text and I was
simply wondering what it said.

If you don't know, then I assume that either you can't see it-so it's a bug, or it's a
display problem at my end.

What I was really saying was that I can't figure out how to reproduce the
dialog box so I can tell you whether I can see what it says.

That'd be the best thing--I agree--but my mind is full of false positives,
and I'm blanking on simple steps to reproduce the dialog you are seeing--if
you want to give me a set of steps, I've got an office full of machines that
I'm sure haven't updated, and I can go check this on a few of them (via
Remote Desktop, of course!)

"..and I'm blanking on simple steps to reproduce the dialog you are seeing--if
you want to give me a set of steps,...."

Sorry 'bout that.

My Autoupdate is set to "Notify me when updates are available.." so I can select whether
or not to do the update immediately (done because I want to see the process regarding the
"From -> To #'s").

I don't know if it is relevant but, my task bar is on the top and is set to "Auto hide".

Interesting--I've never seen that dialog, 'cause I don't have any machines
set that way. I'll change my home machine and see what happens--but chances
are I won't know until next Thursday or Friday, though.

OK - got to see it today. That's one unique dialog box. I think it looks
to me just as it did to you--missing something. You also can't move it--it
won't drag. I think this is a simple cosmetic issue that will change--I'm
having trouble imagining what the additional text would be though.
