Missing Window Settings

Vista never ceases to amaze me, with it's antics. Now it has done another
flip. When working with files, manually sorting and burning a copy of them
them to DVD data disks, the bottom information bar on the file content
windows disappeared. I was tracking the content of each file by it's size,
and the folder's file count on the bottom of each window. During the
operation of copying files to be burned, by dragging and dropping into the
DVD drive, all of the information on the bottom of all the windows
disappeared and I can't find the place where I can reset them back. The
bottom taskbar is still there. This is not the first time things change or
disappear without warning in Vista. The Vista was installed on this new
Gateway w/2 gig RAM and 320 gig HD on Intel Core2. Arggghhhh!!!!

It's hard to tell, but I assume that you are referring to Windows Explorer
and the Details Pane.
To turn it back on, click on Organize - Layout
click on Details Pane

Thanks Dave. I see how that works. I also found the menu at the top that
in View you can check the Status bar, which I guess was what I was missing.
Either one gives me the information I was needing, though I still don't know
how it got unchecked in the first place...
