Missing text on form

I copy an access database and it's related link files so that I can do some
work at home. In the past this has not been a problem. The program works
fine at work and when I placed a copy on my usb I checked it before I left
the office and it worked fine also. Normally at home I copy the files to my
computer or work directly from the usb (as recently as last week)

This is what's happening now. I have a form with a combo box that allow the
user to select a client from a list. (from a query). However the combo box
is suddenly empty. I check the table and the data is there, I ran the query
and the data is there. Any clue as to what's happening? I opened another
form that also shows the client's name. All the other information is there
except the client name.

I've recopied my files from the office, deleted all copies from my home
computer and recopied from the usb. Also, ran repair on Microsoft Office
programs. This is so wierd because this process always worked before. Any
suggestions.

you do not mention relinking the 2 files.... this is probably your issue.

f you have autoupdate turned on at home then you my have sp3 - and a small
problem

Go into the table (source for the combo) and remove the formating from it.
If that fails then disable the formting on the table fields save and then
reformat. Delete the combo and create a new one (from the reformated fields)

I did relink several times. No luck.
I just created test form with just one combo box. I referenced the same
query, column count = 2, Width 0,1 (0=acct#, 1=Client). This is the same
info as in my original form and my combo box was still blank. I then
changed the Width to 1,1 and I get the Acct# but still no Client name.
I don't know. Maybe my Access program is damaged. I'll uninstall and
reinstall.

Thanks removing the formatting worked and my Clients are listed in the combo
box. What is sp3? Am I going to have a problem when I reload my file at
work?

Open access - click help - click about access - if you have sp3 it will say
so there.

It was a stupid support pack that microsoft sent out as an autoupdate.

I'm not sure if there are any fixes available (don't think so but I may be
wrong).

Do a google search "remove sp3" and see what you can find. if you are worried

I think that if you redo the combos it should be ok after that - but ther
may be other "stuff" you need to worry about, not sure. Maybe an MVP will
join the threat and give some advice.

I have sp3 and I re-did the combos and and now everything works fine so I
would not worry about it too much.
