The method Dan speaks of is disabling two services - the SSDP Discovery
Service and Universal Plug and Play Device Host Service.

Go to Start | Run. Type in "services.msc" without the quotes. Click
ok. In the resulting window on the right side scroll down to each of
those services. Double click on it. If started stop the service. Then
set the start up type to disabled.
