Hi,

Could anyone please teach me how to get back my "Safely Remove Device"
icon in my taskbar? I need it desperately for the proper removal of my
thumbdrive on my laptop after usage.

FYI, I am running XP SP2 and I have already customize my "Safely Remove
Device" Icon to show all the time in my taskbar but it does not help.
What is strange is that everytime I restore my computer to a checkpoint,
that icon appears but after restarting, it goes missing again.

Please help me and my thumbdrive. Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,
Andy

Simple Cheat

Here's a cheat. From a command window run:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll

This will bring up the add remove wizard. When I did this, it put the icon back in my task bar as soon as I removed my USB drive.
