missing managed upgrades

N

Niel Smith

My XP users who are using the OS version of Messenger
(4.7 I think) are getting notified every thime they use
it that they should upgrade to version 5 to patch
security flaws.

The problem is no .msi is provided and I get errors when
I try create my own. I would think if there really was a
security threat a managed solution would be provided for
patching clients . . . unless, of course, there is no
threat, and MS is just trying to get users to adopt their
latest product under the guise of security!

Come now MS, cough up the truth or an or be responsible
for your products that install with a default Windows
installation and provide a Messenger 5 .msi pack.
