Missing icons in system tray

Hans-Georg,

| no, never even heard of them.

Ok, that helps.

| But I do have a large range of software installed. One of the
| programs could be the trigger or the odd setting left in the
| registry.

What is unusual is the volume control icon setting doesn't persist across
logouts. I have to reenable it each time I log in, then all the network
connection icons reappear with it.

This is giving me a headache<g>.

Ned,

yes, can understand that.

It seems that the symptoms are different here. In the worst case
only the network icon appears. Sometimes some others appear, and
recently all appear most of the times, so the problem isn't so
bad any more (since the processor upgrade).

I don't remember other icons appearing when I forced the speaker
icon. Maybe our problems are different, but the general
conclusion is that there is something fishy in the system tray.
