Try working through the following and see if it helps:
Try clearing the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and
delete offline content.)

Zone Alarm Pro can block Images in IE -
1. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level>reset custom
level to Medium or Low
2. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>set the slider to Medium or Low
3. Go to this site and read on adjusting the Privacy settings in ZA. It will
explain how to customize on a per site basis.

Perhaps your ISP compresses images to reduce download time. Ones's such as
Earthlink, AOL,
Netzero and a few others have this option. You may be able to disable it by
checking your ISP Help files.

Can't View Some Graphics on IE/AOL
If you have Norton Personal Firewall or some other ad-blocking software or
popup stoppers installed, try disabling this type of software temporarily to
see whether this could be the problem. Many of these programs block
Javascript, which is often used to pop up login windows and create rollover
graphics. Norton Security, for example, is known to block any image that
originates from another server (advertisement images usually do), and I'm
guessing it also blocks at least some Javascript.
Set the following -
Under Security
Java Medium
Display mixed content-prompt is checked
Under Scripting
Scripting of Java applets
Is set to Enable
Privacy settings are medium
Check if your encoding setting in IE. To do this, click on View / Encoding,
and make sure Western European is selected.
