Reinstall Office, why, what was the problem?
Assuming thats all you did, try initially, with outlook closed, running
scanpst.exe, the repair tool on your outlook data file (the *.pst)

On your previous installation of Outlook, was it functioning? you had
overcome the password not remembered problem?

You should be aware that Office xp is not completely vista compatible. You
need to upgrade to 2003 or 2007 or you will have problems with Outlook.

While it's not the cause of your problem, keep in mind that Outlook 2002
(included in Office XP) isn't compatible with Vista.
