Missing emails in Outlook Express 6 on XP Pro after moving location store

Ben Godomon

I hope anybody out there can help me out.

I am using OE 6 on XP Pro.

I tried moving my store folder using the following
commands:
1 From Outlook Express (OE), select Tools-Options-
Maintenance-Store Folder-Change
2 Select a precreated empty folder
3 Restart OE.

When I did the above, I could not see any of my emails
being copied from the original location to the new
location (it should do it automatically, shouldnt it?)

So I went thru steps 1-3 again, but now changed BACK to
the original folder, now I could not get or even see any
of my emails, and when I tried to view with Explorer, I
could NOT list any of its contents (i.e. the *.dbx files),
not even after restarting the PC.

What happened to my emails, and how can I get them back?

Please reply to (e-mail address removed)

Your assistance/ideas is most appreciated.

Thank you!

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 & 2003 from the
Office
family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one of
these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).
