I have windows mail on my laptop and outlook on my desktop. I use my laptop
most of the time and I just realized I am not getting all my e-mail on my
laptop. Outlook gets all my e-mails and my laptop gets e-mails speratically.
One friend sent me 2 e-mails in a row and my destop only receieved one of
them. When I try and send them to myself from my desktop they still do not
show up on my laptop. Please help.

Thanks

Just a thought - are the two machines getting emails from the same account?
If so have you set your account up to keep copies of the mail on the server,
so that both machines will be able to access the mail regardless of when
they connect?

Tools > Accounts, highlight your e-mail account, press Properties button,
Advanced tab, Delivery section at the bottom of the dialog

I made sure I did this for both computers and they were set up correctly.
Would I have to disconnect my desktop? (I really don't want to since I use
that too but I am getting 1-2 e-mails a day on my laptop and about50-30 on my
desktop. I don't understand why this is a problem. From the posts I have
been reading, was windows vista a big mistake?

Same exact place.
In fact, I'm pretty sure all mail account Properties screens
are the same when comparing WinMail to Outlook Express.

Set both machines to leave a copy on the server for some relatively small
number of days. In WinMail go to Tools | Accounts, select the account and
click Properties. The setting will be on the Advanced tab. I can't tell
you how to do it in Outlook. I haven't used Outlook for 10 years.

So he did. My bad.
I checked my Outlook 2007, and the desired setting is reached thusly:
Tools, Account settings, select the account, Change, More settings,
Advanced.
I'm remembering why I never took a liking to Outlook. The settings
are not nearly as easy to find as in OE/WM.
