missing dll files

My Norton one-button checkup tells me I am missing mscoree.dll and gapi32.dll
I can't find the first, but the second is there.
I have no idea where my original installation disks are.
Where can I get mscoree.dll and why is gapi32.dll never found?
Is it case sensitive?
Why has this happened when the XP system has run for over a year without any problems.

Well, is your computer running fine? There are minor quirks with
Norton's WinDoctor program reporting missing files that are actually
installed correctly. I would ignore the WinDoctor report.

Here is an example:

Error Message: <Systemroot>\System32\Mapisrvr.exe Cannot
Access a Necessary File, "Gapi32.dll"

WinDoctor cannot fix the error "'C:\WINNT\System32\MAPISRVR.EXE'

The gapi32.dll file can be found on your Microsoft Office
installation CD.

Try running your SFC. If you don't have the CD point it to the i386 folder.
It should be in the Windows/DriverCache folder.

Click START|RUN and type...
"sfc /scannow" (no quotes, and note the
space between "c" and "/")
