missing conversation history folder in outlook

I have Communicator 2007 installed from my work...it may have proprietary
settings.
I can only add those contacts that have a user name within another company
that I contract for (that's not the problem).

I have Outlook 2007 installed (upgrade from 2003). I am trying to have
Communicator save all conversations, however, I do not see the option to do
that.

Also, much of the available documentation states that Outlook 2007 should
have a "Conversation History" folder.

Since my Exchange Server is different domain than the Communicator server,
would that cause the issue?

I had the same problem. There was no Conversation History folder in Outlook. Turns out that the problem in my case was the "personal information manager"was set to none i.s.o. "Microsoft Office Outlook" (option in communicator). After some time this setting was replicated on the exchange server and the "Conversation History"got created in my Outlook client.:)
