Missing connection entry

In i.e.6 in Internet Options | Connections, one connection
does not appear in the list and thus it's not possible to
set the proper proxy settings for this connection.

How to have this connection appear in this list ?

I've been searching on my own in the registry where those
informations are stored, and noticed in
\hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\internet
settings\cinnections (and in several other places as well)
on my computer (not experiencing the descirbed problem)
that only part of the dial-up and vpn connections are shown
in there : I have set 6 vpn connections and only 3 appear
inthere. how comes ? in i.e. I see all 6....

It looks as if there is only room for 3 to appear.
Does that list scroll when there are more than 3?
Even if it doesn't acquire a scrollbar can you use CursorDown
to see the other entries?

It appears that you are questioning the implementation
and specifically the derivation of that list but you haven't
disclosed your OS. I would be pretty sure that that is a
significant factor. For example, in NTx some of that
information might not be coming from the registry at all
but from the rasphone.pbk

According to this article a "PhoneBook" may still be in use
by XP. In fact I found one under

Directory of D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Connections\Pbk

<title>KB284269 - HOW TO: Save and Restore Dial-up Connections in Windows XP</title>

Here's another article which still suggests that that implementation
may be important.

<title>KB812442 - Error Message: Phone Book Can Not Be Created. Error 624</title>

(MSKB Boolean search for
pbk AND kbWinXPSearch
)

I don't know if VPN connections are managed the same way or not.
There does seem to be some mention of them in various documents
on MSDN which imply that CMAK uses an alternate implementation.
Again, only a particular set of OS is referenced.
