missing cd/dvd drives

Windows no longer recognizes my d: and e: drives for dvd
and cd, respectively. I tried to go through the add
hardware option with no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi mike
Try this, in device manage, remove all the drivers to your
CD and DVD drives. Then, shut down the computer. Open the
case and disconnect the DVD drives data cable. start the
computer, then CD drivers should load up, then shut down
again. connect the DVD drive and the DVD should find the
drivers too, if not as it goes to look for those drivers
point it to your CD or elsewhere that you have the DVD
drivers located.
hope this helps,
-=Bob :)
