Minolta Vs HP...

I'm looking to get either the Minolta 3250EN Color laser printer or the HP
LaserJet 1500L. Anyone have any use, problems, comments about either
printer?

I'm really stuck in the middle with these two printers. I love everything
else HP makes, and respect (trust) their name. But the Minolta has higher
resolution. Both look to have vivid color, and a good "shine" to the ink.
Consumables for both seem to cost about the same.

What do you guys think?

Do you mean Minolta 2350 EN? :)
If you mean 2350 EN then you must be crazy. You can compare 2350 EN to HP
Color laserjet 2500n or 3700n not 1500l. HP Color Laserjet 1500L is not in
same class as Minolta 2350 EN. So there you have your answer if you really
mean 2350 EN. Minolta has higher resolution, duplexer can be added,
scan/copy unit can be added and it has network interface etc
configurable with web browser buildin.

Only bad part about minolta 2350 EN (not compared to HP 1500L but 2500N
or 3700N) is that input tray is not closed and can collect dust.

Muks,

Yes, I mean the 2350 EN. Sorry about that, long night of looking up printer
info. :]

One thing I don't understand about HP is most of their printers are 600 X
600 DPI. (even the 3700). That seams low to me. Strange that HP doesn't make
a higher res, lower end printer...

I would have to agree, higher DPI is a good thing. Thanks for your input...

I have minolta 2350 EN print sample (on 2 different papers) from minolta
on same picture as i have printed with HP Color Laserjet 3700. Minolta
seems higher DPI but colors on laserjet are much better (noticably). This
could be that test print was done by someone who didnt know how to use
color profile or printer was not color calibrated at all (seems wierd).

This

Ok i now received that print sample again this time printed correctly
using 2 minolta printers (2300DL and 2350). 2300DL was far from color
reproduction of 2350 or HP CLJ3700 so its not worth comparing.

This time 2350 was equal to HP CLJ 3700 with color matching.

Minolta 2350 hides visible pixelation using little blur. You can notice
this very well in some areas but this hides some detail. You can
see raster looking very close in hp print and almost cant see at all in
minolta. So this is kinda tradeoff.

Minolta print you can see some jaggies in straight lines (near border
of colors) that is not visible in HP print.

Minolta toner seems bit glossier than HP.

Now get your sample on a Xerox Phaser 8200/8400
