minimizing all windows

i had a button on my quick launch bar that i could click and minimize all
the open
windows. This was great because i use a program to hide the desktop icons
and when all of the windows were minimized using this button, the icons
would show up also. All of a sudden the button is gone and won't come back
even after rebooting. any idea how to get it back? using xp media center.
tried deleting and
re-adding the quick launch bar. all the other icons are still there, just
this one is [still] missing. tia.
