minimize button

I am using office 2003. In Word, the minimize and
maximize buttons are missing from the menu bar. I like
to have 2 files open at the same time for coping and
pasting. Can anyone tell me how to get the minimize and
maximize buttons back? Thanks for any hlp you can give
me.

Hi Dianna,

Word 2003 uses a Single Document Interface (SDI). This means each document has its own menu bar, toolbars, title bar, etc. so you will only see one set of Minimize, Restore/Maximize commands.

Just use the Minimize button you see and the document window will minimize.

If you want to see window commands for your document you can switch to a Multiple Document Interface (MDI) in which your documents will share the same interface by going to Tools/Options/View and turn off "Windows in Taskbar".
