Minidump Files on a crash

On Vista build 5520, I am trying to get a minimdump file for a crash. I was
able to get a .mdmp file once in the users\appdata\local\temp directory once.
After that, I have not been able to get that. Everytime the program crashes,
I do not see this temporary dump files geting generated but all I see is a
message saying the program will close.

Anyone have any idea how I can generate the minidump files always on a crash?

Thanks,
Al.

check your spelling. I'm not in Vista now, but I can view my
Windows\Minidump from X64 on my Vista drive. If Vista has a system
Properties / advanced / startup and Recovery you can see where your dump is
directed. Mine is %SystemRoot%\Minidump I have several dumps in my
Vista directory.

Hopefully someone on Vista now can give you better directions.

That is correct. The kernel dumprs go into %systemroot%\memory.dmp under
vista by default. I am asking about the .mdmp files which get created
temporarily for application crashes...

Aloke.

Here is the result from x64 searching my Vista drive.

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\Report03d237bc\Report.cab\minidump.mdmp
