Migrating to new drive activation worries

As one who messes about with games and software i always migrate/ clone my
working drive to another drive about every week to prevent re installing my
operating systema nd all software all over again. Being in the process of
converting to Windows xp i am concerned about the activation stuff being
started each time i clone my drive ( even if all the other hardware stays the
same).
Does anyone know if this imaging / cloning would create my a problem. ONLY
in the content of having to re activate the software again and again.. And
that would be a serious problem.

I use Ghost 2003 to maintain an image of my hard drive(s) and activation has
never been an issue.

Using Ghost or True Image you generally create a compressed image of your
drive and then put that image back on Your Same drive from which the image
was made. But if you cloned that drive ( WD 120 gig ATA Drive) to a
completely different drive
( Segate 200 SATA drive) and then started using the completely different
drive i wonder if that would start the activation process.

Thanks for the link.
It does give me a lot more information that i had before regarding this
issue i sure would know what will happen when i image a drive IDE to a
different drive SATA and then start using the SATA drive..
Hopefully there is someone out there that has dealt with this imaging issue
before and knows something more definitive.

Thanks
