Migrating to 2003 with member NT server

Hi everyone,

I am currently planning a migration to 2003 from NT4 for 10 servers mainly
in order to tidy things up and consolidate messy domains. We currently have
5 domains with 5 PDCs. All servers can and will be migrated to 2003 apart
from one. This will need to stay on NT4 as it is partly maintained by a
third party. At the moment this server is a member of DOMAIN1. The PDC of
DOMAIN1 will be wiped and rebuilt as part of the migration. I was thinking
of keeping the 2003 network in mixed mode and getting the that member server
to join the new domain DOMAINNEW.

Can anyone spot any implications in doing this?

Many thanks,

Johnny

If you only need to keep that one server running Windows NT 4.0, then simply
upgrade the domain from NT to Windows Server 2003. The member server will
continue to be a member of the domain after upgrade - even after a switch to
Native Mode or beyond.

Thanks Dave,

problem is I am trying to get rid of this domain (and other 4...) so this
member server will need to become member of the new 2k3 domain.
