I have a student who has typed a research paper using the MLA style and has
somehow inserted a line that should not be there. It is not a page break, but
a bold solid line that goes from the right margin all the way to the left
margin. I cannot select it to delete it, any suggestions on how to remove the
line are appreciated.

Sincerely,
Theresa

With the cursor in the paragraph immediately before the line, select Borders
and Shading from the Format menu and when you go to the Borders tab, you
should see a representation of the line in the Preview section of the
dialog. Either click on the line there, of click on None image under the
Setting section on the left hand side of the dialog.
