Microsoft Word version 7.0 freezes on cut and paste (not internet)

I have recently developed a problem where 7.0 word processor will freeze when
trying to cut and paste to anything. I have to ctrlaltdelete to close the
program. It works under F8 save mode but not in regular windows. I have XP
home and Service pack 3, 2 gigs of ram and P4 processor. I have scanned for
viruses with Spyware Terminator, HighJack This, Windows Defender, AVG,
Adaware lavasoft , Spybot and nothing was detected. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled twice but get the same problem. I have shut down Zone alarm and
all other programs but still no go. I have word pad and have no problems with
that. I prefer Word 7. Anybody? Help? Please...
