I am pissed of the way the word handles styles. It automatically creates an
other style when you make some format changes to a text. That bothers me.
How can we stop this? How to show only well refined style in the styles
window?

Any Help will be highly appreciated.

In Tools > Options > Edit, turn off "Keep track of styles".
