Microsoft Word 2000

I could not find a specific forum for Word 2000 so I will post my question
here.

With XP, the software can only be installed once so that users cannot use
the same software on duplicate computers.

Does 'single use installation' also apply to Word 2000? If I buy a 'used
copy' and the product key has already been entered, will I still be able to
install it or should I buy 'new' with a 'new' product key?

Any MS software is only licensed for a single installation on one working
PC, unless it states otherwise on the EULA within that particular program
Office H& S 2007 is licensed for installation on 3 working PC's in the same
household, its not licensed for any Commercial use.
If you buy used software, provided its supplied with the keys &
certificates, and generally its a retail version not an OEM version, then
you can install it
Any version of Word, as a single Component is licensed only for a single PC

Open Office is free & is compatible with Word

Basically, what I want to know is this.

Can I install the software if a previous user has already entered the
product key and registered it, will I have to use the software under the
'previous user's registration,' or will I be unable to install it at all?

Am I better off buying new, used, or it does not matter?

Install it and don't worry about it. A version THAT old doesn't have
any built-in checker for activating, etc. Believe me, you are safe
even if it's on 100 other computers and is still registered on them.

I know. I really do know.

For a version of Office that old, you probably would be better served by a
free copy of Open Office from www.openoffice.org. The features in the
current OO are the same or better than that in Office 2000 and doesn't cost
anything.
